Responsibilities and Obligations
Department responsibilities:
To strengthen traditional export market and expand new markets
To promote and improve service trade
To develop new regional exporters
To promote developing international trade centers
To promote internationalization of Thai companies by encouraging external business investment and brand
To develop and appreciate products
To maximize trade negotiations and free trade agreements
Functions
Department functions:
To make policies and export promotion action projects.
To assist exporters in entering international markets by means of investigating market data, expanding distribution channels, providing market platforms and organizing sales promotion activities.
To develop export competitiveness through capacity building programs for manufacturers and exporters, including SMEs and OTOP businesses, esp the development of design capabilities and brand building.
To strengthen the ethical brands and Thai product brands, and to improve export image of Thai products and service by means of public relations and media as well as participating actively in the international cooperation frameworks.
To develop trade and database information in order to provide effective trade information service for exporters, importers, and the public.
To improve efficiency and reduce trade transportation costs to enhance competitiveness.
To set up international trade networks and increase channels of product distribution through representative offices set up by DEP.
