The Prime Minister’s Export Award (PM Export Award) is the Thai government’s highest official award annually granted to outstanding Thai exporters of products and services to showcase and acknowledge their top quality and high standards. This award scheme was initiated by the then, Thai Prime Minister Anand Panyarachun in 1992, to support Thai exporters and service providers. The award also aims to give importance to their crucial roles in boosting the country’s exports by projecting themselves, their products and services with excellent qualities and recognitions under their own registered trademarks, brands and designs.

This award is aiming to raise the competitive ability of Thai products and services and maintain their sustainability and recognition in international markets.

The Prime Minister’s Export Award has still been conferred annually, with the Prime Minister of Thailand presiding over the ceremony as a way to honour Thai exporters who strive to compete in the global market with their own quality products and services under registered brands, trademarks, and unique designs.

5、OTOP Export Recognition

The PM Export Award was established in 1992 and has been presented annually. The awards were presented to over 270 winning exporters with 332 total awards handed out. In 2008, the 18th PM Export Award, organized by the Ministry of Commerce, will be held on Monday 24,August 2009 at the Santi Maitri Building, The Government House.

The PM Export Award is bestowed on exporter and service providers to encourage both winners and non-winners to raise and develop the quality and standard of their products and services to be internationally accepted and reach world-class levels.

4、To encourage Thai manufacturers and exporters to establish good corporate images and get them to realize that it can be beneficial in reinforcing the images of the export products and services in the long run.

3、Privilege in using ‘Thailand’s Brand’ for their winning products, which the products qualified to meet all the requirements of ‘Thailand’s Brand’.

5、Global promotion of their brand to the world’s market.

1、Best Exporter

Applicants must have:
1、A well-accepted history of export business by importers for at least 5 years
2、A significant role in promoting Thailand ’s overall exports and have dedicated their times to participate with both related governmental and private export schemes.
3、Continuous export history of their products and ongoing growth in both volume and value.
4、Registered as a juristic person under the Department of Business Development ,Ministry of Commerce.
5、Their trademarks registered on behalf of a juristic person at the Department of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Commerce.
6、 A good corporate image and good records for export business such as no intellectual property rights infringements.

2、Thai Owned Brand

Applicants must have/be
1、An exporter of Thai products under own brand name or trademark at least 3 years of business operations. In the case of several brands under one company, a specific applicant can apply only one brand for this award category.
2、Top quality and globally accepted products that have been well developed to the international standards.
3、Continuous export history of their products and ongoing growth in both volume and value.
4、Registered as a juristic person under the Department of Business Development,Ministry of Commerce.
5、Their trademarks registered on behalf of a juristic person at the Department of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Commerce.
6、A good corporate image and no bad records for export business such as an intellectual property rights infringements.

2、Design Excellence Award (DEmark)

Product Qualifications must be:
1、Designed by Thai designers or foreign designers working for Thai-owned corporations.
2、Either the industrial products category or the industrial crafts category.
Industrial Products – mainly manufactured by machine intensive with machinery oriented system.
Industrial Crafts - mainly produced by skilled labor intensive system with partial machinery oriented system.

Applicants must have/be
1、Either product designer/design company/manufacturer or exporter who owns the products. To enter this contest, applying designers or designing firms must have a proper consent letter from the product owner.
2、The entry can be submitted under the name of either the designing firms, groups, teams in a company, or freelance designers.
3、An application or a company can enter the contest with more than 1 product, but not more than 3 products. Supporting documents and related documents for each applying product are required.

4.1. Thai Restaurants in Foreign Countries
Applicants must have/be

1. Food shops or restaurants that provide Thai food service.
2. Shares held and operated by Thai persons.
3. Food shops or restaurants that acquire the “Thai Select” quality mark.
4. Food shops or restaurants with at least 5 years of operation.

Applicants of Medical Services must have/be

1. At least 5 years of operation.
2. At least 50% foreign customers (if the portion is less than 50%, ongoing growth rate is required).

1. Qualified for the standards of health spa business development (either Gold, Platinum, or Silver Level) under the Ministry of Public Health.
2. At least 5 years of operation.
3. At least 50% foreign customers (if the portion is less than 50%, ongoing growth rate is required).

Applicants must have/be
1、OTOP manufacturers and exporters . (The applicants must not only export the product, but also have to produce them.)
2、Either a local producer, a single communal producer, or small and medium enterprise (SME) producer according to the definitions from the OTOP manufacturer/provider registration handbook 2009.
3、3-5 star OTOP producers selected in the country’s OTOP Product Champion scheme.
4、OTOP producers who manufacture and develop top quality products to reach the needs in international markets.
